Today, along with 6275 other schools, St Bernadette’s took a stand against bullying and violence.
The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence.
Our day commenced with our School Representative Council leading each stage in prayer. We participated in activities that help arm our students with the ability to combat bullying and violence in their day to day lives.
The resources we used for activities throughout each of our learning spaces aim to help students understand and recognise what bullying is, how to report it, and where to get help.
The students also created a wonderful mural to stand together today to say BULLYING. NO WAY!
Thank you to Marg for helping to create our wonderful mural and to the SRC with Ms Ninness for organising our school prayer.

As we continue our focus on Bullying No Way Week this week, it’s beautiful that we can also reflect on the amazing models we have who share our Catholic faith!!! Last week we celebrated St Mary MacKillop. What a perfect example of someone who put the needs of others ahead of her own!!! An example of loving all people, especially children, and finding ways to ensure that each and every child was treated equally and had the same opportunities no matter what their circumstances. This week is a time to really highlight the importance of understanding and kindness. A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to our beautiful Year 6 Voice of Youth school Finalists who all presented their speeches to Stage 3 yesterday! It was an incredibly difficult decision to select our school representatives. All our finalists should be so proud of themselves. They shared their passion, knowledge and skill so beautifully. Wowsers what a fabulous day we had yesterday - ‘Dress as a scientist’ was a HUGE success. Not only did our children look fabulous they also enjoyed the Science Show! Well here’s our first monthly HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out for the second half of JULY!!! They had some wonderful celebrations including going out to dinner with family to sushi, pizza and Chinese. Let’s not forget the birthday cakes: custard, sponge, ice cream, chocolate brownie and some themed cakes including a cross between Spider-Man and Minecraft. They were also spoilt with some pretty fabulous gifts like clothes, shoes, bikes and lots of toys.
