Today, along with 6275 other schools, St Bernadette’s took a stand against bullying and violence.
The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence.
Our day commenced with our School Representative Council leading each stage in prayer. We participated in activities that help arm our students with the ability to combat bullying and violence in their day to day lives.
The resources we used for activities throughout each of our learning spaces aim to help students understand and recognise what bullying is, how to report it, and where to get help.
The students also created a wonderful mural to stand together today to say BULLYING. NO WAY!

Last week I had to shift my support to the NRL because we had the Parramatta Eels come out to school to talk about positive wellbeing and of course promote the game of Rugby League. While Iβm not an Eels fan we certainly had a few fans around and I loved listening to the players and the positive advice they had for our students!!! BTW our kids asked some pretty AMAZING questions - we were so proud of them!!! ππππππππππ

Last week our Year 6 Mission & FIAT Leaders were invited to attend the CSPD Project Compassion Launch!! They were blessed to not only join other students from Parramatta but also to hear from Bishop Vincent and Mr Jack de Groot. We can not wait to see how these young people share their learning with us and lead us during our time of Lent and Project Compassion. πβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈ

Our WELCOME BBQ was small in number but big in energy and enjoyment!! Thanks to the Parent Group for the free sausage sizzle; to the staff who had so much fun; and to all our families who attended. A HUGE shout out to this fabulous little athlete!! Jack won first place in High Jump in his regional championships with a huge PB!!! This now means he progresses to the State Little Athletics Championships next month! We canβt wait to hear how you go!!! ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯

Stage 3 have wasted no time getting busy in their first Stage 3 Leadership Meeting. Our Captains, Vice Captains & SRC worked with Mrs B; the Sport Team worked with Miss Callanta; the Mission FIAT Team worked with Mrs Stone & Mrs Brothers; while the Community Team worked with Mrs Chand; and the Environment Team worked with Miss Leonardo.
