What's Kindy learning?
On September 8th, Kindergarten students conducted their stage Liturgy. Kindergarten students read beautifully through their prayers, the focus scripture stories and displayed their pictures of reflection. The students worked so hard to be reverent and respectful during their liturgy and sang beautifully to the song they had worked so hard to practice.
Literacy
In literacy, we have been learning about different types of informative texts. One text type in particular that we have been focusing on is what a procedure is through participating in ‘hands on’ and interactive lessons.
Kindergarten have become ‘chefs’ this week by learning how to make ‘Vanilla Pudding’ and ‘Popcorn’. They were all excited and enthusiastic to create party food whilst learning that procedures require things we need or ingredients as well as informing the reader/audience how to do/make something in sequential steps.
Whilst making these foods, students were actively engaged by listing all items needed as well as sharing interesting adjectives to describe how the food looks, smells and feels.
After all their hard work making their party food, needless to say Kindergarten enjoyed tasting their end products! Well done on your efforts Kindy!
Numeracy
This week in mathematics we have been looking at 2D shapes and 3D objects. Students have been creating their own 3D objects using popsticks. All of the Kindy students have learnt that some of the objects are easier to make than others but have been showing incredible persistence as they complete the task.

Stage 3 did a wonderful job with their Celebration of Learning last Friday. It was such a pleasure to hear all about what you been learning and to see some of your amazing work!!! Happy happy MAY birthdays to all our wonderful children who celebrated with family and friends over the last month!!! I can assure you all they had a fabulous time celebrating another year getting older! We had children going out for lunch and dinner at Nandos, Chinese, Sushi and San Churros; going to Timezone, the movies, Olympic Park Pool and Area 51; sharing Zooper Doopers and donuts with friends; and loving opening some presents including robotic dogs, dolls, board games and even a flower pillow; one student even donated food to the poor as part of his birthday celebrations!!! Iβm so glad you all had a wonderful time celebrating you!! ππππππππ»π₯³

Well we had a fabulous time sharing our excitement around our totem of the Blue Tongue Lizard with SBS News yesterday!! They filmed our students working with the team from Jarara (CSPD) and the Rangers working on our first garden designed to protect Bluey!! We will let you know when the story will air on TV!!! We are so excited for our after school NRL sessions starting this afternoon from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. The children thoroughly enjoyed our two sessions over two weeks with the Parramatta Eels. Our girls especially loved having Elsie Albert, Parramatta prop lead the sessions - what an inspiration. ππππππππππ
