Parent Involvement

At St Bernadette’s Primary, we believe that every student should be aware of their responsibilities as global citizens, and as such we strive to grow the strong partnership between home, school and parish.

Parents are a vital part of the school community and are involved in many aspects of school life. Our four active parent groups consist of an education, social, fundraising, and community group. They support and work closely with our school and the community, and assist in building community spirit.

We also have a variety of open and ongoing invitations for parents and the community to attend, organise and be involved with. These include: liturgies, morning teas, regular coffee and chats, open classrooms, school events, helping in learning spaces, volunteering in the school healthy canteen and uniform shop, attending carnivals and excursions as volunteers, attending workshops in parenting and curriculum areas, and through formal and informal interviews. The school communicates openly and regularly with parents through the weekly newsletter, digital applications and news feeds, via the school website.

Volunteer Training

We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school.

As we are committed to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
