Patrician Brothers’ came to St Bernadette’s on Wednesday to show their support for the St Bernadette’s community during this time of loss.
The staff and students from Patrician Brothers’ wanted to do something for the children that would help show that the extended community is with them in solidarity at this hard time.
The team led by Santo Passarello organised and ran a BBQ lunch for the students and staff whilst providing musicians for entertainment. This was a fun afternoon showing the students that others care.
We thank the Patrician Brothers’ community for this heartfelt gesture. Bringing some food, musicians and fun to what has been a challenging time for the community. It affirming to know that we stand together as a Catholic community.

On Tuesday the 11th of November we paused to pay respect and join together in prayer to remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans and people currently serving! It was beautiful to come together in our church to not only remember but pray for all those affected by war, including those experiencing war now. Thanks to all our students and staff who prepared for and participated in our liturgy. Thanks also to those parents, carers and friends who were also able to join us. 💛🌺💛🌺💛🌺💛🌺💛🌺

School TV SPECIAL REPORT: Embracing Change & New Beginnings Change is a natural part of growing up. Whether it's the start of a new school year, moving between year levels, or stepping beyond the school gates for the final time, each transition brings a mix of emotions, presenting both opportunities and challenges. Last week our Year 3 students completed the entire writing process, moving from planning, drafting, editing, re-drafting, editing, all the way through to publishing!! They composed and published stories inspired by Dreamtime narratives they have read during their learning time. Year 3 were then so excited and proud to share their stories with Kindergarten. Last week we welcomed back our 2026 Kindy cohort for Transition Session #2!!! They skipped down to the Library to play with their new friends and listen to another great story. It’s time to say a HUGE HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all our beautiful children who celebrated their birthday in October, some of our kids even shared their birthday with another family member!! There were birthday parties, visits to Flip Out and Mt Annan, get togethers with cousins, camping trips and surprise visits to hotels. Yummy cakes were eaten including, chocolate, ice cream, Lilo & Stitch themed and Spider-Man themed cakes; and plenty of cool birthday surprises, even a remote control car, Demon Slayer toy and of course some LEGO!! Everyone loved celebrating their big days with family and friends!!! 💛🎉🎂🥳🎈🎊🎁

As part of Year 5’s Science unit, students explored how engineers and inventors use creativity and problem-solving to make everyday life better. Their learning intention was: We are learning how to use design processes to explore opportunities and develop effective solutions. Given only rubber bands, marbles, and a piece of fabric, students worked collaboratively to design inventions that could help people stay cool on hot summer days. From hats and bonnets to neck protectors, and even a handheld fan weighted down by marbles, our young designers showed innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking. Proving that even simple materials can inspire amazing solutions! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

Last week we had the final GALA DAY for the year - Stage 3 Touch Football!!! Both teams had a fabulous day, with one of the teams even getting through the day undefeated!!! I’m wondering if you heard about last weeks ‘2025 Slam Jam’ that took place during playtime!!! We had students playing basketball and we even had VIP students who got to watch the action from a special courtside viewing area in which ice cold ice blocks were served!!! Earlier in the week we invited our 2026 Kindy cohort to come to school for some fun Transition Activities. Mrs Buenaventura and I loved playing with them, reading to them and learning their names. About half the cohort came along and we are looking forward to seeing them again next week!!! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

On Friday of Week 1, while Year 6 were reflecting on their time at St Bernadette’s, Year 5 were busy learning about LEADERSHIP in preparation for their time in Year 6. They had fun working in teams, discovering their gifts and talents and more importantly learning about how to serve their peers, teachers and community through their leadership!!! 2026 looks like a fabulous group of LEADERS!!! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.
