Every year Blacktown council runs the Blacktown City Art prize. They have artists from all over Australia enter the competition and only 100 are selected for the exhibition. Our very own artist in residence Marg, was a finalist in this year's competition. Congratulations Marg!!!
At the same time, the Young Artist Competition takes place. Our students were invited to participate in the competition and for the students who did, Marg submitted their entries.
All work submitted from St Bernadette’s students have been displayed in the exhibition. Prizes for each age group will be announced tomorrow.

Last Friday was so much fun at the Athletics Carnival! The kids were smiling, the teachers were smiling and the parents were smiling. While students got to showcase their sporting skills, it’s also important to remember this is also an opportunity to practice resilience! Congratulations to all our beautiful Stage 3 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation - the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, last night. Fr Fernando shared the lovely story of the child who was walking along a beach returning stranded starfish back to the sea. And when he was asked why is he wasting his time you can’t make a difference because there are so many, the child responded with “Well I just made a difference to that one!!!” God has called each one of you to make a positive difference in our world, no matter how small, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Another puzzle down and the students wanted to try another larger puzzle - 1000 pieces. I love their energy and focus when working with our puzzles. Our Stage 3 student leaders from the Sport & Community Teams did an AMAZING job yesterday during Afternoon Tea with their Resilience Activities. They led the little ones in stilt relays and musical chairs, while they led the big ones in a trust obstacle course. There was so much fun and resilience building happening. Our Stage 3 pre school visits always generate such joy and not just for our leaders but for the little preschoolers too. I love that our boys happily sat in the hair dressing salon and got their hair coloured, and for $50 I think they got a bargain!!!! 💛☺️💛☺️💛☺️💛☺️💛☺️
