Every year Blacktown council runs the Blacktown City Art prize. They have artists from all over Australia enter the competition and only 100 are selected for the exhibition. Our very own artist in residence Marg, was a finalist in this year's competition. Congratulations Marg!!!
At the same time, the Young Artist Competition takes place. Our students were invited to participate in the competition and for the students who did, Marg submitted their entries.
All work submitted from St Bernadette’s students have been displayed in the exhibition. Prizes for each age group will be announced tomorrow.
We would like to thank Marg, for her ongoing creativity and her efforts to foster our own creative talents here at St Bernadette's

A HUGE shout out to the students who competed in the Blacktown Zone Swimming Carnival last week!!! They did a wonderful job representing our school and swimming to the best of their abilities!! We had a very successful day winning a few races, breaking a record and some students going on to the Diocesan Swimming Carnival next week. ASH WEDNESDAY is always a special time in our liturgical calendar. A time that marks the start of LENT - taking the time to prepare for Easter. Time to think about how we can make a positive difference to the lives of others. Itβs time to celebrate all our February birthdays at St Bernadetteβs! This year we even have a leap year baby so he gets to choose to celebrate today or tomorrow - I wonder what heβll choose!!! Our kids have had a great month celebrating with family and friends, eating out at restaurants, going to Luna Park & Lasor Tag; having parties at home; eating some fabulous cakes; and receiving some pretty fabulous gifts including LEGO, a new phone, even a present from their Year 6 Buddy! However they have celebrated, their smiles tell the stories!! ππππππ₯³ππ

Last week I had to shift my support to the NRL because we had the Parramatta Eels come out to school to talk about positive wellbeing and of course promote the game of Rugby League. While Iβm not an Eels fan we certainly had a few fans around and I loved listening to the players and the positive advice they had for our students!!! BTW our kids asked some pretty AMAZING questions - we were so proud of them!!! ππππππππππ

Last week our Year 6 Mission & FIAT Leaders were invited to attend the CSPD Project Compassion Launch!! They were blessed to not only join other students from Parramatta but also to hear from Bishop Vincent and Mr Jack de Groot.
