Today, along with 6275 other schools, St Bernadette’s took a stand against bullying and violence.

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence.

Our day commenced with our School Representative Council leading each stage in prayer. We participated in activities that help arm our students with the ability to combat bullying and violence in their day to day lives.

The resources we used for activities throughout each of our learning spaces aim to help students understand and recognise what bullying is, how to report it, and where to get help.

The students also created a wonderful mural to stand together today to say BULLYING. NO WAY!

Thank you to Marg for helping to create our wonderful mural and to the SRC with Ms Ninness for organising our school prayer.

Our PreSchool visits have restarted this term. Not only do our Stage 3 student leaders enjoy their time but the little preschoolers also love our visit. Not to mention some of our kids get to reconnect with their past preschool teachers - such beautiful moments!!! πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) has welcomed the election of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the Pope, now to be known by the name Leo XIV. This represents a momentous event in the life of the Catholic Church, the wider community of Christian believers and, in many respects, the whole world. Conference President, Archbishop Costelloe said Pope Francis had β€œreminded us that unity does not demand uniformity, but rather openness to the rich diversity of the many cultures and traditions which are part of our Christian heritage”. Pope Leo XIV paid tribute to Pope Francis in his first remarks, which focused on peace. β€œPeace be with all of you,” he said. He urged the faithful to β€œmove forward, without fear, united, hand in hand with God and with each other”. Let us all pray for Pope Leo πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ»
